White Oak

Color and Grain: Heartwood is usually a yellow to golden or medium brown, darkening with age. Pale yellow sapwood is clearly demarcated from the heartwood.

Workability: Easy to work with, but its interlocked grain may cause tearout during surfacing operations.

Cypress

Hard Maple

Color/Appearance: Light to medium brown, sometimes with a reddish cast. The sapwood is nearly white or cream-colored.

Workability: Fairly easy to work with both hand and machine tools. Finishes well, but may require pre-conditioning for even staining.

Beech Wood

Color/Appearance: Pale cream color with pink or brown hues. Ray fleck patterns are visible in quartersawn sections.
Grain/Texture: Straight grain with a fine to medium uniform texture.

Workability: Machines well, glues, finishes, and responds well to steam-bending.


Common Uses: Lumber, veneer, flooring, musical instruments, and furniture.

Walnut

Color/Appearance: Dark brown heartwood with purple and chocolate undertones.

Grain/Texture: Coarse grain with prominent ray flecks.

Workability: Easy to cut, shape, and sand. Takes on an amazing look with a clear finish.


Common Uses: Gun stocks, musical instruments, fine furniture, cabinetry, and flooring.

Red Oak

Color/Appearance: Light to medium brown heartwood with a reddish cast. Prominent ray fleck patterns.
Grain/Texture: Straight grain with a coarse, uneven texture.

Workability: Good results with hand and machine tools. Glues, stains, and finishes well.

Pine Wood

Color/Appearance: Pine wood varies widely, but it can be categorized into soft pines & hard pines.
Grain/Texture: Soft pines have low density, even grain, and gradual earlywood to latewood transitions.
Workability: Hard pines are denser, have abrupt transitions, and uneven grain.

Rustic Oak

Color/Appearance: Rustic oak typically features knots, cracks, and other natural imperfections.

Taking care of wooden furniture

Proper care and maintenance of your outdoor furniture will help it withstand the elements and stay in great condition. Here are some essential tips for taking care of exterior furniture:

Clean

Regularly clean wood furniture using appropriate cleaning products.

Regular Dusting: Dust your furniture frequently using a soft, dry cloth or a microfiber cloth. This helps prevent scratches and removes accumulated dust. Avoid feather dusters, as they can send dust particles into the air.
Clean Away Spills Promptly: Blot away liquid spills and condensation from drinks immediately using a paper towel or soft cloth. For sticky messes, dampen a cloth with plain water and gently wipe the affected area to prevent damage to the wood.

Protect

Protect wood furniture from the elements by using covers or storing it indoors during harsh weather.

Sunlight Protection: Sunlight can damage wooden furniture. Always cover it with covering fabric if you intend to leave it outside for more than a few weeks.
Sand Protection: Sand lightly will dry the wood and make it gray. to prevent that we need to oil them at least 2 times a year. When it comes to protecting and maintaining your outdoor furniture, choosing the right oil is crucial.
